The monthly 50% off sale our our local Goodwill is a huge magnet for bargain hunters. It’s amazing the slice of life you can meet as you fight through the crowded aisles.
Give my regards to Jerry
I met the Grim Reaper at the
Goodwill on Main the other day.
He was going through the used CDs,
looking for stuff by the Grateful Dead.
It was all a bit awkward, the two of us
just standing next to each other in the
chaos of a fifty-percent-off sale. People
kept having to step over his sickle.
Eventually I said: “The Dead, man,
they’re pretty amazing. Ever see them live?”
He looked down at me with those hollow eyes
and whispered: “Oh yes! Many times.”
Delightful – great plays on words!
ha. of course he has…smiles…
Andrew, your wit is flowing in and out of this whole poem! Love the “Dead” and love this–thank you for the grins ๐ “have you seen the Dead?” Made me laugh out loud ๐
Clever word play! ๐
Briliantly done, Andrew. Just the kind of clever wordplay I really enjoy… smiles
smiles – well played, sir ~ M
Love the double-meanings and word plays in this one. Very original.
Gotta love this one!
=)
Ha! This is awesome! ๐
lol – This was good!
This was very witty..
“Have you ever seen them live?” I laughed my ass off, Andrew. I can just see the Grim Reaper and the pp stepping over that pesky scythe… have you ever seen the show “Dead Like Me”? You’d get a kick out of the opening credits, not to mention the concept. Amy
Very Sharp ๐
Ode to Jerry! Lovely!
Hello, i read your blog occasionally and i own a similar
one and i was just curious if you get a lot of spam feedback?
If so how do you stop it, any plugin or anything you
can advise? I get so much lately it’s driving me mad so any assistance is very much appreciated.
I’m really enjoying the design and layout of your blog. It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more enjoyable for
me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a designer to create your
theme? Great work!
